QUI SOMMES NOUS ?
"On S'en Branle Pas!" is a project born from an unexpected opportunity: the chance to design a student project with complete freedom of action. In response to a call for projects from the CRIAVS (Resource Center for Professionals Working with Sexual Violence) in Nancy, we wanted to put our creativity to work for a concrete and publicly useful cause: the biases in the representation of pornography.
Upon further investigation, the conclusion was striking: the pornography industry has massively normalized violence against women. Faced with the immensity of the subject, we refocused our approach around a specific issue: how does pornography influence a distorted view of sexuality and ultimately normalize rape culture?
To discuss such an intimate and taboo subject, we chose to address our own generation: 18-24 year olds. Our method? To start with the most searched-for categories of porn, because they are the gateway to all consumption. Our goal is absolutely not to judge or moralize, but to use these familiar codes to better deconstruct them and encourage reflection on their impact.
We chose to name this project "We Don't Give a Damn!" A deliberately direct tagline that twists a popular expression to emphasize the seriousness of the issue. This title sums up our philosophy: the normalized consumption of pornography has real consequences, and we simply can no longer pretend to be indifferent to it.
